Not only is the pattern adorable (I'm a huge grass type guy), but the pages are fairly thick and super smooth for ease of inking and coloring! I haven't tried any alcohol or acrylic markers yet, but I wouldn't judge if the ink seeped through the pages (that's pretty standard for any paper thinner than cardstock lol). I've been carrying it around with me in my work bag and it's survived the jostling of a bus commute and me running with a bunch of miscellaneous shit bouncing around inside, so it passes my personal sturdiness check, and no scratches on the surface either. Functional and adorable, would highly reccommend :^)
